Geisinger Healthplex State College is seeking a part-time Front Desk Associate to provide front line support for the department. You will greet and register patients, assist with check-out, and schedule future appointments as applicable.

Responsibilities include verifying demographics, handling insurance communications, collecting fees, and maintaining patient confidentiality in a HIPAA-compliant environment. The role operates in the state college area with evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in for appointments and verify demographics.
• Ensure all check-in procedures are completed and monitor patient wait times.
• Read and interpret insurance responses and assign coverage accordingly.
• Explain privacy disclosures and obtain necessary signatures.
• Collect fees and communicate financial obligations at time of service.
• Complete regulatory forms and coordinate follow-up appointments as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and patient confidentiality consistently.
