Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Coral Shores Behavioral Health in Stuart, FL seeks an Admissions Counselor to perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments, helping identify appropriate level of care for potential patients. You will be the first contact with referral sources, coordinate referral and intake, and support the admission process while communicating with families, patients and unit staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services field or valid Florida RN licensure.
• 3–5 years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Valid BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
• Serve as the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients; coordinate referral and intake.
• Assist physicians during admission; communicate with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.
• Verify and obtain prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
