Job summary

Covenant House Alaska is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to deliver trauma-informed services to youth experiencing homelessness and human trafficking across residential and drop‑in settings.

You will build relationships with youth, support education and life-skills programming, document case notes in the ETO system, and collaborate with partner agencies while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field strongly preferred.
• Experience with adolescent or disadvantaged populations; life, volunteer, and internship experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Have actual, intentional contact with assigned youth every shift.
• Engage youth in educational, vocational, and life-skill programming.
• Provide face-to-face support and intervention in multiple settings.
• Document in youth files and update Success Plans.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development.
• Keep supervisor fully informed at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
