Job summary

Covenant House Texas is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist for an evening shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM). The role focuses on direct engagement with homeless and at-risk youth, providing trauma-informed support and facilitating educational and life-skill programming.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to work flexible hours, and strong communication and collaboration with team members to ensure youth safety and progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; further education in Human Services preferred.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Ability to relate to at-risk youth with empathy; strong listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain actual, intentional contact with every assigned youth during each shift.
• Provide face-to-face support in Youth Engagement Center, Safe Haven, or Rights of Passage.
• Assist with youth documentation, reporting, and coordinating with community partners.
