Job summary

Covenant House Alaska seeks a Youth Engagement Specialist (YES) to provide trauma-informed, youth-centered care within residential and drop-in programs. You will build intentional relationships with youth, engage them in education, life skills and vocational activities, and work toward sustainable outcomes.

The role requires schedule Fri-Sun evenings, strong collaboration with teams and partner agencies, and commitment to safety and confidentiality. Prior experience with youth is preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or a related field strongly preferred.
• Experience with adolescent or disadvantaged populations is preferred; lived homelessness is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Build intentional relationships with youth and engage them in programming.
• Provide trauma-informed, individualized services across residential or drop-in settings.
• Document in youth files and assist with Success Plans and goals.
• Ensure safety and whereabouts of youth and maintain building security.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with reporting requirements.
