Job summary

The City of Goose Creek Recreation Complex is seeking a part-time Gym & Recreation Attendant to supervise open play, assist members, and enforce rules in a safe, welcoming environment.

This role requires CPR and First Aid within 90 days, a High School diploma, ability to work nights and weekends, and the stamina to handle a fast-paced facility.

You’ll support daily operations, set up gear for basketball/volleyball, assist with equipment, and ensure the gym runs smoothly for members.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic gym operations including basketball and volleyball equipment setup.
• Ability to provide quality, courteous customer service, to include handling difficult customers.
• Ability to enforce rules and policies in a firm, fair, and professional manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise open play activities, including basketball and volleyball, and gym rentals.
• Supervise and facilitate use of indoor climbing wall.
• Enforce facility rules and policies consistently and professionally.
• Respond promptly to member questions, concerns, and requests for assistance.
• Assist Fitness Manager and Athletics staff with daily operations.
