Coast Guard Exchange (USCGCSC) in Petaluma, CA, is seeking a Cook-05 for intermittent shifts to prepare a variety of menu items and manage kitchen operations with attention to safety and sanitation.

The role requires physical stamina to lift up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. The position offers a civilian federal schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation, presentation, reading and following recipes.
• Experience following oral and written instructions and performing simple arithmetic.
• Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items such as hamburgers, grilled sandwiches, eggs, quick meals, cold sandwiches and salads.
• Operates kitchen equipment and maintains proper food temperatures for safety and quality.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas following safety and sanitation regulations.
• Covers, dates and stores all food items at close of business and assists with inventories as needed.
