Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa is seeking an on-site Front Desk/Clinic Services representative for the evening shift at the South Tampa Urgent Care location. Responsibilities include handling check-in/out, collecting co-pays, verifying insurance, obtaining signed documents, and scheduling follow-up appointments.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least 2 years of experience in a medical environment.

• Ensure the front desk area is prepared to receive patients by turning on lights, unlocking doors, and placing sign-in sheets at the front desk.
• Greet patients upon arrival in a friendly manner and welcome new patients to the practice.
• Inform patients of any delays in clinic/wait times.
• Provide the intake tablet and instructions, and assist patients having difficulty using it.
• Ensure patients complete all required intake information.
• Verify patient photo ID and insurance cards against Athena accounts and update Benefit Department with changes.
• Verify a valid authorization is present in the patient’s Athena account and that benefits have been verified within 90 days.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding balances; obtain signed credit card on file agreements.
• Begin check-in in Athena and print/collect required financial documents with signatures.
• Upload outside imaging CDs into Medview PACS and prepare paperwork for the next day’s clinic.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and complete end-of-day batches.
• Process disability form payments and scan daily batches; inform Zone Lead of issues to ensure resolution.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
