Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, is seeking a Unit Secretary for Memorial Campus South 5 to support patient care operations in the 2:45pm-11:15pm shift. This on-site role handles receptionist duties, message relay, chart preparation, and coordination of patient transport and appointments.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, with a starting pay range of $19.74 to $26.96 hourly, depending on schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and effective communication.
• Knowledge of a variety of office procedures and equipment.
• Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training.

Responsibilities

• Serves as unit receptionist, directs patients and visitors, answers calls and relays messages.
• Transcribes physician orders and enters into the entry system.
• Maintains patient charts, kardexes and medical records, and assists with transport logistics.
• Schedules patients for consults and diagnostic services; coordinates transportation.
• Maintains unit log, equipment/supplies, and ensures orderly work area.
