Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an Ultrasonographer responsible for preparing patients and performing routine ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. Qualifications

• This position requires completion of an accredited ultrasound program or MWHC/MIF cross-training, or twelve months relevant experience.
• AHA BLS Provider certification is required.
• ARDMS (AB or OB/GYN or VT) or ARRT (S) certification is required at hire; OB/GYN registry within six months if not initially registered.
• Registry in Abdomen, Vascular, and Pediatric Sonography is preferred.
• Three years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Experience with EMR, Radiology and information systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by confirming orders and identities and obtaining medical histories.
• Perform ultrasound examinations on all patient age groups and maintain competency.
• Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment and uphold infection control standards.
• Provide supervision and instruction to students and support ultrasound training programs.
• Monitor supplies and ensure uninterrupted services; document procedures and billing data.
• Participate in performance improvement activities within the Ultrasound department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
