Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine ultrasound procedures under Radiologist supervision. You will prepare patients, verify orders, and produce high-quality images with proper documentation for interpretation.

The role requires completion of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and ARDMS/ARRT registration. 1:30pm–10:00pm shifts, with a commitment to care bonus for qualifying external candidates.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited ultrasound program or MWHC/MIF cross-training program, or twelve months relevant experience.
• BLS certification required.
• ARDMS (AB/OB/GYN or RVT) or ARRT (S) required; registry due within 6–12 months depending on specialization.
• Three years relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR, Radiology, and information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for ultrasound examinations by confirming orders and patient identity.
• Performs ultrasound examinations on all patient age groups.
• Maintains competency and adheres to departmental policies and protocols.
• Disinfects equipment and probes; follows infection control standards.
• Monitors inventory to ensure uninterrupted services.
• Documents patient information and procedural data for accurate billing.
• Participates in performance improvement activities for the Ultrasound department.
