Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform general and arterial ultrasound examinations, operate ultrasound equipment, and produce quality images for Radiologist interpretation.

The role requires 1 year of diagnostic ultrasound experience, ARDMS or ARRT certification or eligibility, and CPR/BLS certification (interview stage). It is based at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital in Radiology and offers a union-covered wage range.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or ARRT certification or eligibility with interview requirement
• Minimum 1 year of full‑time imaging experience in diagnostic ultrasound
• Training in Doppler and color imaging with knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• CPR/BLS certification required at interview

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment and perform all types of ultrasound examinations
• Record accurate patient history and communicate with medical staff
• Provide technical findings summary to Radiologist for diagnosis
• Prepare patients and assist during procedures
• Transmits images via PACS and inputs Radnet data within 24 hours when system is down
• Collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare team members
