Job summary

Cook County Health in Chicago, IL seeks an ultrasound technologist to perform general and arterial ultrasound exams in Radiology at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital.

You will operate ultrasound equipment, obtain patient histories, prepare patients, and provide results to Radiologists for diagnosis. You must be ARDMS or ARRT certified/eligible with BLS, and have at least one year of diagnostic ultrasound experience. This is a union position.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certified or eligible with certification within one year of starting employment.
• ARRT registration with certification at interview.
• One year of full-time ultrasound imaging experience.
• CPR trained with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at interview.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform general and arterial examinations.
• Obtains and records accurate patient histories.
• Communicates findings and collaborates with Radiologists and healthcare team.
• Prepares patients and room for procedures; positions patients correctly.
• Ensures patient safety and adheres to infection control policies.
