Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (must provide diploma at time of interview)
  • Completion of a two-year program of Radiologic Technology (official transcripts at time of interview)
  • Must be registered by the ARRT (registration at time of interview)
  • Must be licensed by the IEMA (license at time of interview)
  • Must have current CPR certification (certification at time of interview)

Responsibilities

  • Takes radiographs as assigned following prescribed techniques and procedures.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents for radiography as needed.
  • Ensures infection control and safety practices are followed during procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains radiological records and reports.
  • Transports patients within the department and to imaging areas.
  • Sends images to PACS and enters patient information into the system.
  • Performs quality control to ensure optimal radiographs.
  • May train students and auxiliary personnel in radiologic procedures.
