The role involves operating scanners, processing images, and adhering to infection control and radiation safety measures. The position requires ARRT CT certification, IEMA licensure, and BLS, with a minimum radiologic technology credential.

Shift is 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at John H. Stroger, Jr.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a two-year AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT CT certification is required.
  • IEMA licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CAT scanning equipment.
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Enter patient data into RIS (Cerner) and send images to PACS.
  • Set scanning parameters (mA, time, slice thickness) and quality control.
  • Maintain log sheets, supplies, and inventory.
  • Assist in teaching CAT scanning to residents and students.
  • May initiate IV for contrast administration.
