Job summary

Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates, IL is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a rotating shift (PRN). You will conduct ultrasound exams, identify anatomy and pathology, and ensure high-quality image capture.

You will set up and adjust equipment, troubleshoot issues, and follow safety and regulatory protocols in a fast-paced clinical environment. Minimum requirements include a BLS certification within 30 days, plus ARRT Sonography or ARDMS credentials within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer date.
• ARRT Sonography or ARDMS credential within 12 months of hire date.
• Education as listed (high school diploma/GED with experience or higher).

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient exams using ultrasound waves, identifying and interpreting anatomical structures, pathology, and artifacts while ensuring high-quality image capture.
• Set up and adjust equipment, ensure proper functionality, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform necessary safety/tag-out procedures.
• Implement safety protocols, maintain regulatory compliance, and uphold departmental cleanliness in procedure rooms and storage areas.
• Perform routine and complex imaging studies, manage PACS submissions, and ensure all patient data and lead markers are accurate and complete.

Education

High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.

BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire

ARRT Sonography OR ARDMS credential within 12 months of hire
