Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH, is hiring a patient care assistant to support nurses and clinical teams during evening shifts. The role requires trauma-informed care, strong communication, and the ability to work with patients and families in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Hours are 3:00 pm–11:30 pm, 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE), every other weekend. Starting pay is $20.16 per hour with $1.80 evening and weekend differentials; full orientation and BLS/TCI/First Aid certifications

Qualifications

• Education requirements as listed: high school diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in and completion of half a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergrad program, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care and cares for patient assignments as delegated.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families and communicates effectively.
• Provides trauma-informed care, uses de-escalation and safety measures as needed.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Acts as a resource on diagnoses, behavior plans, and crisis management.
