Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a caregiver assistant for evening shifts from 3 pm to 11:30 pm. This role is 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE) or 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE) with every other weekend required.

Start pay is $20.16 per hour, with a $1.80 evening and $1.80 weekend shift differential, and pay is commensurate with experience. The position provides basic supportive and trauma-informed care under supervision of a registered nurse or clinical supervisor, and entails collaborating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current enrollment in and completion of half a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergraduate program, or equivalent experience.
• One year of hospital experience in a mental health role within the past three years, or equivalent education.
• BLS, TCI, and First Aid certifications required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care; cares for patient assignments as delegated.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families; communicates and educates effectively.
• Delivers trauma-informed care, uses de-escalation techniques, and supports staff and patient safety.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Serves as a resource to unit staff on diagnoses, behavior plans, and crisis management.
