Job summary

Bay Cove Human Services is seeking a Counselor in Addiction Services to provide assessment, individual and group counseling, and case management for individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Under Clinical Director supervision, the Counselor will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma-informed, person-centered care and ensure documentation and compliance across the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a closely related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year supervised counseling experience in substance use or mental health disorders.
• Licensure as an LADC I/II, CAC, or CADAC preferred.
• Knowledge of substance use treatment continuum and aftercare options preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals in distress.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, welcoming environment and meet service needs.
• Conduct interviews and develop biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions per plan.
• Complete documentation in electronic health record per guidelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and coordinate care with external providers.
• Assist individuals toward treatment completion and transition planning.
• Maintain records per agency and funder requirements.
• Provide crisis prevention and timely escalation when needed.
• Engage in training and supervision for professional development.
