Job summary

Food Lion is seeking an evening store operations leader to manage the day-to-day operations with a focus on service, quality and safety. You will lead store associates, drive customer service excellence and ensure compliance with company guidelines while collaborating with store leadership.

The role requires previous department management experience, strong organizational and people-skills, and the ability to oversee multiple departments and tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Good judgment in problem solving and decision making.
• Ability to lead and manage associates across departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.
• Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with daily store operations.
• Hire, train, and develop store associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain strong customer service and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure security, safety and food safety standards are met.
• Utilize financial reports, inventory systems, scheduling and ordering tools.
• Support achievement of store budgets and financial results.
• Promote a positive store culture aligned with company values.
