Job summary

Food Lion seeks an experienced Department Manager to oversee evening store operations, lead multiple departments, and ensure high standards of customer service, merchandise quality, and safety. You will hire, train and coach associates, manage budgets and use ACIS/CAO tools to drive results.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required, along with a high school diploma and relevant management experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across departments.
• Must meet age requirements and physical job requirements.
• Accredited as Food Safety Manager or able to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day store operations.
• Hire, train and develop store associates.
• Coach, appraise and discipline to drive performance.
• Ensure fast, courteous customer service and overall store presentation.
• Maintain security, safety and food safety standards at all times.
• Utilize financial reports and inventory systems to meet budgets.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial results.
• Lead across departments to meet business needs.
• Complete CBT and required training courses.
