Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Must be NRFSP certified or able to obtain accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day operations of the store.
• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and easy customer service.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to reflect Food Lion's guiding principles and values.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Understand and use company tools for reports, scheduling, ordering, and inventory.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales through customer service and minimize shrink via standard practices.
