Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day operations of the entire store.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and developing associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Maintain enthusiastic customer service and ensure fast and easy service.
• Provide leadership reflecting Food Lion's Guiding Principles and values.
• Control store funds and assets and ensure safety and food safety standards.
• Use financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, and ordering systems.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Minimize shrink through proper practices and coaching.
