Job summary

Food Lion is seeking an Evening Store Manager in Americus, GA to lead store operations after hours, ensuring product quality, customer service, and safety standards are maintained. You will supervise associates, hire and train staff, and drive performance while controlling budgets and assets.

You will oversee adherence to Food Lion's policies, conduct safety and food safety checks, and utilize corporate tools to monitor inventory and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations.
• Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day store operations.
• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain enthusiastic customer service and fast, easy shopping.
• Provide leadership that reflects company principles and values.
• Control store funds and assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions affecting associates/customers.
• Comply with policies, security, safety and food safety standards.
• Use company tools and systems (ACIS, CAO, scheduling, reports).
• Support achievement of store financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales while minimizing shrink through proper practices and coaching.
• Ensure staffing schedules meet business needs.
• Interact with associates to ensure understanding of expectations and training.
