Job summary

CUT by Wolfgang Puck New York is seeking an enthusiastic Steward/Porter to support the back-of-house team. You will maintain spotless dish areas, assist with cleaning, and ensure all cookware and wares are ready for service in a fast-paced, fine-dining setting.

The role is evening-based with a focus on sanitation, organization, and reliability. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively, and committed to high standards of hospitality and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Steward or similar role.
• Experience in high-volume or fine-dining restaurants a plus.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort, rinse, and load glassware, china, silverware, cookware, utensils into dish racks for machine washing.
• Unload, sort, and store clean items for culinary and service teams.
• Rewash items to meet cleanliness standards.
• Wash pots and pans by hand as required.
• Monitor dish machine temperatures and notify management of issues.
• Maintain dish machine area clean and sanitary.
• Set up and break down the dishwashing area.
