Job summary

Beefbar, a fine dining establishment in New York, seeks a reliable Porter to maintain cleanliness and organization across dining rooms, kitchen, restrooms and storage areas. You will assist with waste disposal, outdoor areas, and event setup while upholding health and safety standards.

Able to lift up to 50 pounds, you’ll work flexible hours across mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays to support our high standards of service.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in cleaning or janitorial work, preferably in restaurant or hospitality.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout a shift.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all areas of the restaurant, including dining areas, kitchen, restrooms, and storage areas
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including entrances and patios
• Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled
• Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as needed
• Assist with moving and arranging furniture for special events
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
• Follow all health and safety regulations
• Assist other departments as needed during busy periods
