Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a SPD Technician I/II for an evening shift at our Worcester, MA campus. The role involves decontamination, inspection, high level disinfection, sterilization, and sterile storage of equipment across the network.

You will work under the Sterile Processing Leadership Team to maintain safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma, CSPT program completion, and certification within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited Central Sterile Processing Technician program.
• Certification within one year of employment required.
• Knowledge of sterilization standards/procedures and related terminology.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, inspection/assembly, and high level disinfection/sterilization of instruments and devices.
• Store and distribute instruments, ensuring proper inventory and rotation.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Assist in backlog reduction and coordinate tray preparation as needed.
• Provide guidance as charge tech to entry level staff.
