Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor for an evening, full-time role. You will direct and supervise SPD staff, oversee decontamination, processing, sterilization, and cart assembly across multiple units, and ensure accurate documentation and equipment operation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CST with CHL/CSPM preferred, and at least two years of SPD supervisory experience with strong instrument and inventory knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current certification as a Central Processing Tech.
• CHL or CSPM certification preferred and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum two years as SPD Technician or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, inventory and case cart management.
• Proficient English communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises Sterile Processing Department staff.
• Plans and supervises decontamination, processing, sterilization and cart assembly.
• Oversees operation and maintenance of SPD equipment with timely corrective action.
• Coordinates cleaning, sterilizing, storage and distribution to ORs and units.
• Verifies documentation such as sterilizer printouts and incubator logs.
