Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current certification as a Central Processing Tech.
• CHL or CSPM certification preferred but must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum two years as a SPD Technician or Surgical Technologist with supervisory experience.
• Expert knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, inventory management & case cart management.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises assigned personnel; handles evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
• Plans activity in SPD: equipment, decontamination, processing, instrument assembly, sterilization, cart assembly.
• Supervises operation and effectiveness of all SPD equipment; takes corrective action as needed.
• Coordinates cleaning, sterilizing, inspecting, storing, and distribution of sterile articles to various units.
• Verifies documentation such as sterilizer printouts and logs; corrects performance as needed.
