Job summary

OhioHealth in the United States is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee instrumentation, equipment, and supply availability for all surgeries. The role entails staff supervision, training, and collaboration with OR and SPD teams to ensure precise, efficient operations.

The position emphasizes leadership, safety, and high reliability within a hospital setting. Evening shift timing is 3pm-11:30pm, with a 40-hour work week and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• 3 - 4 years’ experience in Sterile Processing operations or related field.
• Experience with computers and data entry, ideally Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to demonstrate critical thinking under pressure.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterilization standards.
• 3 - 5 years of Supervisory or Management experience in Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities

• Serves as acting leader in the absence of management.
• Works collaboratively with Operating Room staff & SPD staff to ensure needs are met efficiently and accurately.
• Responsible for the scheduling and job assignments for staff on their team/shift.
• Directly oversees the team members to guide the success of the department.
• Communicates changes and assists in staff education regarding instrumentation and equipment.
• Implements workflow initiatives to improve departmental productivity.
• Responsible for real-time coaching of staff members and providing follow-up to management.
• Fills into staffing vacancies/assignments as needed or requested.
• Responsible for aiding in the education and training of fellow associates.
