Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Sterile Processing supervisor to assist the manager in daily unit operations, ensuring delivery of clean and sterile instrumentation and supplies for OR and care areas. The role supports staff development and interdisciplinary collaboration across regional sites.

The role requires CRCST certification and 4+ years in sterile processing, with growth opportunities and oversight of performance improvement initiatives. Onsite at Akron, OH with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years direct sterile processing experience.
• CRCST certification required; must obtain one of CES/CSPM/CSIS/CST/CFER/CIS/CHL within 1 year of promotion.
• Assist with performance improvement and HR management.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates accountability for self and staff.
• Participates in performance improvement.
• Supports staff recruitment and retention efforts.
• Manages staffing plan and daily shift staffing; delegates resources.
• Coaches, times, develops and evaluates personnel.
• Promotes a positive work environment and staff engagement.
• Serves as a team resource and ensures compliance with decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, wrapping, sterilization and high-level disinfection standards.
• Participates in hospital activities as directed by the Manager.
• Other duties as required.
