Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Shuttle Driver for a one-year term to operate a fully accessible shuttle van on the Cambridge/Allston campuses. You will respond to ride requests via Harvard’s app, assist passengers with mobility needs, and coordinate with dispatchers to maintain route accuracy.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, daily cleaning, and occasional parcel deliveries, with a 40-hour week and night schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three to five years of related passenger transport experience preferred.
• Valid State driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Strong verbal communication, courtesy, flexibility, and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operates shuttle van to meet scheduled and on-demand passenger pick-up requests.
• Communicates on two-way radio with dispatcher to receive instructions and confirm changes to route.
• Assists passengers with mobility impairments entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Performs daily safety inspection and completes vehicle condition reports.
• Cleans vehicle interior, empties trash, sweeps floors, and refuels as needed.
• Uses on-demand electronic technology to provide safe ride services at night.
• May perform occasional parcel delivery and participate in planning team activities.
• Performs related duties as required.
