GTI Fabrication in Buffalo, NY is seeking a shift supervisor to oversee welding and fabrication activities on a Monday–Friday 3:30pm–12am schedule. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring safety and quality, and driving efficient production in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has welding/fabrication experience, strong leadership, and the ability to read blueprints and understand electrical diagrams. Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Two to four years welding/fabrication experience required.
• Proven ability to supervise and motivate direct reports.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Willingness to work within changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
• Interfaces with QA manager to ensure highest degree of final quality and develop new and better quality methods.
• Ensures approved manufacturing methodology is being followed.
• Develops and communicates goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance and success.
• Performs the physical work of the department
• Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and develops solutions for efficient utilization.
• Ensures all safety rules and regulations are followed; investigates accidents in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
• Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
• Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
• Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
• Directly supervise employees assigned to their department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
