Job summary

NorDx, part of MaineHealth, seeks an Evening Shift Laboratory Supervisor to lead our off-shift clinical laboratory team and mentor staff. This role partners with day shift leaders to maintain efficient operations, support staff development, and ensure high-quality patient testing services.

The ideal candidate will have strong chemistry expertise, a track record of leadership, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Requires ASCP certification in MT/MLT/MLS.
• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years MT/MLT experience; lead/supervisor experience preferred.
• Strong chemistry knowledge; ability to lead off-shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily laboratory operations during evening and off-shift hours.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to laboratory staff.
• Serve as primary resource for workflow, staffing, and operational issues.
• Manage scheduling, staffing assignments, and workload distribution.
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Support employee engagement, training, competency assessment, and performance management.
• Monitor quality metrics and help implement operational improvements.
• Act as a technical resource, particularly within chemistry operations.
• Partner with laboratory leadership to ensure seamless operations across shifts.
• Perform laboratory testing and other technical duties as needed.
