Job summary

North Central Baptist Hospitals is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist Lead for the full-time evening shift. The role oversees lab testing from neonates to geriatric patients, ensuring patient safety and compliance with established competencies.

Under the direction of Medical Directors and management, the Lead conducts instrument maintenance, staff training, and QA, while coordinating with multiple departments within the market. A strong CLIA-compliant background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology or equivalent as defined by CLIA.
• 3 years of experience as a medical technologist in an acute care facility with increasing responsibilities.
• Current certifications/licensure: ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire; state licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Process and test blood and other body fluids for the clinical laboratory.
• Review test results and apply the correct clinical interpretation.
• Report lab results using a laboratory information system.
• Perform operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
• Provide direction to other laboratory staff that may include Medical Technicians, MLS I/II, Phlebotomists.
