Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC seeks an Inventory Specialist to support supply chain operations. Responsibilities include distributing and restocking supplies, documenting movements in SAP and Pyxis, and performing cycle counts to ensure accuracy.

The role requires strong customer service and physical stamina for daily warehouse tasks. Level II responsibilities add mentoring, backup lead duties, and collaboration with nursing units and clinics.

Qualifications

• Experience in distribution, warehousing, shipping and receiving, logistics, or related service environment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience for Level I; 2+ years for Level II.
• Strong customer service orientation in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects and perform physical tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and restock supplies and/or linen for end users.
• Utilize SAP/Pyxis to document movement of supplies and perform cycle counts.
• Check expiration dates and discard expired items; inspect shipments.
• Accept deliveries; file packing slips; report discrepancies to management.
• Prepare vendor returns; rotate stock; move and stock supplies.
• Transport shipments; deliver non-supply items; participate in counts.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain organized workspaces.
• Level II: mentor Level I, backup Team Lead, manage inventory across sites.
