Job summary

Catholic Community Services seeks an Evening Shift Supervisor for Bertha’s Place and Bertha’s Place Too in Washington. You will oversee evening shelter operations, supervise site staff, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and sound resource management.

Responsibilities include crisis response during evenings, staff scheduling, data entry, HMIS tasks, and collaboration with the Program Manager to maintain a positive, trauma-informed environment for residents while delivering services toward

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience or 2 years in a lead capacity working with homeless individuals.
• Experience with diverse populations including people with active mental health and chemical dependency issues.
• Availability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends).
• Ability to work in a team environment and promote a positive team spirit.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and database experience.
• Background checks required prior to offer of employment.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Must meet CCS driving policy and provide current driving abstract.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of employees and guests; respond to daily crises during evenings and on-call hours.
• Coordinate with Program Manager and Supervisors to maintain consistent rules and a positive team culture.
• Supervise shelter duties including data entry, reporting, HMIS registration, intake interviews, file maintenance, cleaning and laundry.
• Oversee behavioral management by helping guests resolve conflicts and make pro-social choices.
• Oversee Ban process to ensure timely, factual and descriptive bans.
• Cover on-call needs to ensure supervisor availability during emergencies.
• Recruit, train and schedule site staff; conduct annual performance reviews.
• Supervise Lead Program Generalists and Program Generalists; promote mandatory trainings.
• Develop and maintain a diverse, respectful workplace culture.
• Oversee safety and sanitation through regular facility inspections.
• Collaborate with CCS programs to ensure access to mental health and other support services.
