Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for residents in our senior living communities. You will work per approved menus, supervise dietary staff in the absence of leadership, and maintain a clean kitchen while ensuring safety and dietary needs are met.

Responsibilities include temperature control, portion monitoring, and participation in required trainings. This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Basic understanding of food service operations.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations.
• Must be able to learn quickly and follow directions.
• Experience in food preparation, cooking and estimating quantities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety principles in handling food/equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods, withstand temperature extremes, and lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to carry heavy objects for 20 feet and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Monitor temperatures and refrigerations, report faults.
• Record temperatures and leftovers per policy.
• Take and record food temperatures 3 times daily.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings.
• Be familiar with residents' dietary needs and adapt menus as needed.
