Job summary

Pawtucket Public Schools is seeking a Custodian I to maintain clean, safe, and functional school facilities in Pawtucket, RI. Duties include cleaning classrooms and common areas, assisting with events, and ensuring doors, lights, and locks are secure after hours.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to follow procedures, and a High School Diploma. Work hours are 2:00PM–10:00PM with full PSD compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; ability to read and write at high school level.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures and ability to follow written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Arranges furnishings and equipment for meetings, classroom activities and events.
• Regulates heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to maintain comfortable temperatures and efficiency.
• Responds to safety and operational concerns to resolve issues and maintain a safe educational environment.
• Secures facilities and grounds to minimize property damage and liability.
• Cleans facilities to maintain sanitary, safe environments.
• Distributes supplies and equipment to appropriate parties.
• Inspects facilities to ensure safe operations and identify repairs needed.
• Maintains supplies and equipment needed to stock facilities.
• Prepares facility for daily operations to ensure safety and accessibility.
