Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a Custodian for Ivy Drive Custodial Department to support daily building operations and safety, reporting to the Site Supervisor, with afternoon/evening shifts.

Responsibilities include cleaning, grounds tasks, inventory, assisting visitors, and performing minor repairs. Requires HS diploma (GED) preferred; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; 2:30 PM–11:00 PM; Start date TBD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain designated spaces and equipment in the building.
• Assist in seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn).
• Restock disposable items and report inventory.
• Assist visitors with directions and equipment setup.
• Maintain building and grounds security daily.
• Perform minor building repairs and operate custodian machinery.
• Substitute for head custodian when needed.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
