Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a Custodian I for Homestead-Wakefield Elementary School, shift 2. Performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license may be required. Comprehensive benefits and twelve-month employment are offered.

Qualifications

• Physically able to perform essential functions including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply written instructions; testing may be conducted if no diploma is presented.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and clean floors in classrooms, offices, corridors, and shops.
• Use custodial equipment and supplies for cleaning; dispose of trash and garbage.
• Move furniture and office equipment as needed; lift heavy items up to 50 pounds.
