Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Same Day Surgery unit at Jersey City Medical Center. This per diem, evening-shift role in New Jersey offers opportunities for collaboration, growth, and a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, safe medication administration, EMR documentation (EPIC), teamwork with physicians, patient and family education, and support for smooth care transitions and post-operative recovery.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Ambulatory/Same Day Surgery experience preferred.
- EMR experience with EPIC required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
- Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
- Collaborate with physicians and providers to support timely decisions.
- Educate patients and families to ensure informed care plans.
- Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity of care.
- Participate in rounds and contribute to safe care transitions.
