Job summary

Homewood Living Frederick is seeking an RN Evening Shift Supervisor to lead the nursing team on evenings, ensure safe, compassionate care, and coordinate with physicians, families, and staff.

The role requires strong clinical leadership, 2–4 years of supervisory experience in a geriatric setting, and excellent communication skills. Base pay is state of Maryland evening shift with differential; full-time hours offered with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing resident care (required).
• 2–4 years' supervisory experience, preferably in geriatric long-term care.
• Demonstrates compassion, understanding, and empathy for older persons.
• Strong management skills including written and verbal communication, good judgement and coaching.
• Understands management, delegation and motivational concepts.
• Ability to communicate to residents, families and staff clearly.
• Ability to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and with resident behavior.
• Ability to evaluate residents and coordinate emergency responses along the campus.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds for resident transfers as needed.
• Demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills in a respectful, dignified manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for nursing staff during the evening shift.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and coordinate care delivery across the community.
• Serve as primary nursing leadership presence on evenings and maintain communications with families and physicians.
• Monitor and document resident health status, and update care plans as needed.
• Oversee orientation of new nursing staff and ensure compliance with policies.
• Communicate care needs and concerns to families, physicians, and nursing leadership.
• Model nursing practices and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Report severe issues, events, and concern promptly to administration.
