Job summary

Homewood Living Plum Creek is seeking a dedicated RN for the night shift on a part-time basis. You will provide supervision, ensure quality care, and guide nursing staff while coordinating with physicians and families.

The role requires an active RN license, 2–4 years of supervisory experience in geriatric long-term care, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies. Competitive hourly pay and a supportive team environment await.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing resident care.
• Two to four years' experience in a supervisory position preferably in a geriatric long term care facility.
• Compassion, understanding and empathy for older persons.
• Management ability including skills in written and verbal communication, good judgment and reasoning and coaching.
• Ability to communicate to residents, family and staff at a level they can understand.
• Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in unexpected behavior of residents.
• Standing and walking distances constantly throughout the campus would be required during the shift in evaluating residents and supporting line staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides monitoring and supervision of all functions necessary to promote quality care to all residents on the shift.
• Oversees supervision to all nursing personnel and ensures proper chain of command.
• Works with attending physicians in the delivery of care and oversees chart preparation for physician visits.
• Communicates findings to the attending physician and coordinates follow-up on resident health issues.
• Reviews clinical records for timeliness, completeness and accuracy; updates care plans as needed.
• Implements the emergency plan and assumes the manager on duty role on evenings/nights.
