Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg/Telemetry, 36 hours per week, with a 7pm–7:30am schedule and every third weekend rotation. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and collaboration with the care team.

You will apply the nursing process, monitor patient status, and ensure safety with accurate documentation in the EHR. A BSN is preferred and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license with privileges to practice in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively and supports team collaboration and delegation.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
