Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg unit with 36 hours per week in a weekend day-shift program. The role includes nursing process utilization, patient and family engagement, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have an RN license, BLS, and 1 year of clinical nursing experience, with strong communication and computer skills for EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges in the state(s) where providing care.
• BLS certification required; other certifications or licensure per specialty may be required.

Responsibilities

• Engages in care planning and nursing processes to deliver patient-centered care.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans with the care team.
• Maintains accurate, timely electronic health record documentation.
• Promotes safety culture and adheres to ethical standards.
• May administer medications and treatments per protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork within a fast-paced unit.
