Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Decisions Unit. This non-exempt role offers an evening shift and a comprehensive sign-on bonus for external hires, with 32 hours/week options and 3pm-11:30pm schedule details. Final offers depend on scheduled hours, experience, and internal equity.

The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, use the nursing process, and collaborate across teams to support high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification current or as required by unit/position.
• BSN preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Uses the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge, tailored to patient age group.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates a plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned setting.
• Delegates appropriately to team members per job description and competency.
• Documents patient care per standard procedure.
• Educates patient and family; develops Education Plan.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other providers.
• Administers medications and therapies; assists physicians with procedures per policy.
• Participates in Nursing Governance activities.
• Supports professional growth and staff development.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
