Job summary

Summa Health System – Akron Campus is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the 7W Respiratory Unit. This role supports 24/7 patient care operations and partners with the RN Nurse Manager to maintain safe, high-quality care for a 28-bed unit focused on respiratory illness and ventilator care.

The position requires a BSN, Ohio license, and leadership experience; a Master’s degree and clinical certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• CCNE/ACEN accreditation program graduate or in progress.
• BSN required and Ohio license to practice nursing.
• Master’s degree preferred; clinical certification within 2 years preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Support RN Nurse Manager in 24-hour patient care operations.
• Plan and develop short-, mid- and long-term goals to improve unit operations.
• Coach and evaluate the work of patient care staff in the designated area.
• Collaborate with related departments to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
• Assist with unit budget planning and ROI calculations for initiatives.
• Develop evidence-based standards of practice and promote patient safety.
