Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform all modes of respiratory care from perinatal to geriatric. You will deliver therapies, draw arterial blood gases, maintain artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.

Candidates must graduate from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care, hold MA state licensure, and maintain BLS-HP with CEU compliance. The role emphasizes patient service, precise EMR documentation, and participation in performance

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed in Massachusetts in respiratory care (full or limited).
• Current BLS Healthcare Providers certification.
• Maintain CEUs as required by MA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Documents all care activity and charges in the EMR.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates competency in arterial blood gas machines.
• Demonstrates competency in set up and use of all mechanical ventilators.
• Demonstrates competency in set up and use of V60 NIPPV.
• Demonstrates competency in set up and use of High Flow Oxygen Therapy systems.
• Disinfects, transports and sets up non-disposable equipment.
• Adheres to hospital Standards of Behavior.
• Completes annual competencies.
