Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients from perinatal to geriatric levels. The role emphasizes excellent patient care, documentation in the EMR, and participation in performance improvement activities within a large health system.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program, licensed in Massachusetts, with BLS for Healthcare Providers and ongoing CEUs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Massachusetts licensure in respiratory care (full or limited).
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Maintenance of CEUs per MA licensure regulations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Documents all care activity and charges in the hospital EMR system.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates competency in arterial blood gas machines.
• Demonstrates competency in setup and use of all mechanical ventilators.
• Demonstrates competency in setup and use of V60 NIPPV and High Flow Oxygen Therapy systems.
• Disassembles, disinfects, transports, and sets up non-disposable equipment.
• Adheres to the Hospitals' Standards of Behavior.
• Completes annual competencies.
